Dr. Patel completed orthopaedic fellowships in both hand/wrist surgery and shoulder/elbow surgery. He learned the values of work ethic, dependability, and diligence to his craft and instills these values in his practice. This is intricate surgery to relieve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome caused by excessive pressure on the median nerve passing through the wrist. Dr. Patel performs this procedure using a small incision. If patients desire, it can be performed under local anesthesia, allowing you to return to normal activities sooner, avoiding the risks of general anesthesia, and potentially lowering the cost. If patients undergoing local anesthesia are comfortable driving, they may drive themselves to surgery and drive themselves home after surgery.
